Don't you love the commute

As always a good ride with ajb. Started out good down the Keystone till the chucker found the glass I stashed in the grass for him to hit. Flat #1. After that, I think he needed a skirt for the whining he did about the route. Although a sight busier than my usual time. The way home was good. Flat #2 for chucker. A staple about 3-4". I'm surprised that that was his first flat on L st. I cringe just thinking about that route. So therefore I whined about his route. Fair play you know. Showed him a little trail off of 72nd for a good route to Highgear. Highlife in a bike bottle always tastes good. All in all a good ride with ~34 miles for me. I'll miss riding with everyone here for a while.

The Cowbell's last week

Hooked up with CCB for the commute in this morning. We mostly have the same route west, but he prefers to ride up "I" st vs. taking the shoulders of "L" as I do. Not a bad route. Thought the climbs were going to be worse, but I think it's less total climb in the end.

Next up... the ride home. We'll be hookin' up to ride back home as well. I'm going to see if I can con him into a swing south through Seymore Smith or something just to get a decent ride in.

CCB is leaving the Greater Omaha Area (again - punk) and rolling out to WA state. Good luck Cowbell... you always have a comfy landing when you get back.

108th & L

My least favorite part of the ride in... playing with 5 lanes of traffic. At least I get noticed in a lane, and don't get run over by unattentive motorists while crossing these streets at the corners.

Brain Bucket

Another use for your helmet when changing a flat. Keeps your rear derailleur in check.

But you already knew that...

No words needed!

Feel Safe in Waterloo...

They have a helipad. No, Grump, that's not in reference to your pimpin' palace... it's for a helicopter to land on.

Righteous.

The Only thing to order

2 eggs over easy; wheat toast; sausage or bacon - $2.50. Add hashbrowns - $1.00. 2 Buds - $4.00. Time riding - priceless. Pete, Teresa, Uncle Terry and I spun out to Waterloo Sunday a.m. Jean even met out there for food.

Shen ride in a couple weeks. Get on it.

Remember... this Friday is National Bike to work day.

Don't you want to be cool like Cowbell?

Wind-be-gone

Please. Friday was bad enough, now this week started a bit gusty. Team Flashback had a good time on the Spring Road House, good to hear. Ran into Dave on the Keystone today. He's got the bike commute goin' on, too, and lovin' it. He rides from Cunningham lake-ish to Ralston-ish. I don't know if anyone has CCB beat on the round trip, though. How many is it again cowbell?

Bill Randby sez:

Wednesday:
50 daybreak
81 by afternoon
20% chance of showers around 4-5pm.
Ride.

My favorite part of the ride both ways.

What a day

The ride to work wasuneventful. Motorists actually paid attention. I had a short day of work due to some *&%$#*&@^#. Anyways I was riding by 10:45 and almost got hit by a guy who looked at me and then pulled out at me. Not sure how he didn't see me. Thank goodness his window was open. I might have been a little worse for wear. Grumpy was definitely grumpy when I stopped in by noon. I don't think he liked knowing I had nothing to do today. Turned into a nice monday.

72 or so days left until Team Flashback wanders into Ragbrai. Give it up to some of the senior team members for making 2006 their 26th Ragbrai.

Sweet Ride

I saw this gem on my way home from work Tuesday night. Wouldn't ya know it... she was still there this morning. Figures... I just got a new bike.

That's my DOG

...or does it say DOC? Anyone know?

And while we're on the topic of graffiti, anyone know who Karen Hood is? Is her favorite number 52?
